Despite overwhelming public opposition, the council are going ahead with their plan to close Kallangur Library on Friday. This is incredibly sad for the residents of the surrounding area and for the residents of the entire Moreton Bay Council - we will all be worse off without that important resource serving our community. I encourage everyone to try to visit the library this week. Ensure that youve changed your library card to your preferred library (so it doesnt automatically transfer to North Lakes if you dont want that) and say a thank you to the staff there - theyve been the ones whove had to answer questions and address complaints while the Councillors refused to say anything. Keep writing to the Councillors. Write every time you are inconvenienced by not having a library. Let them know that you pay your rates and are not being served by your council. Let them know that they made the wrong decision and they made it in secret - and well remember their secrecy and lies and silence at the next election. Keep asking the questions.
