Despite the fact Diving Officer Peter Lau has now been in hospital - TopicsExpress

Despite the fact Diving Officer Peter Lau has now been in hospital for 157 days since his accident, he remains as positive as ever and determined to get diving again. This amazing video of dolphins in the Red Sea was taken on his last dive holiday before the accident. This week he cracked the ‘wheelchair wheelie’ (an important skill to master for getting around town we’ve been told) and he’s also introduced snorkelling into the hospital’s hydrotherapy pool! Pete managed to get masks and snorkels donated (by Brett Thorpe of DiveLife) and is now working towards introducing Try Dives for spinal patients. Pete has been exceptionally grateful for all of the support from fellow BSAC members, friends and also the diving trade (John Womack of Otter Drysuits has also helped out). A very keen and valued member of West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service Scuba Section, Pete tragically lost the use of his legs back in April. You can follow Pete’s progress on his YouTube Channel at: https://youtube/channel/UCRZqUWQjPZnkKiYu-DnzDcg Although we know he doesn’t like to ask, Pete is also in need of financial support (as the specialist kit he needs is expensive), and has a page for donations here: gofundme/ei9vec
