Destihl Brewery is now available in Colorado. Saw a couple canned - TopicsExpress

Destihl Brewery is now available in Colorado. Saw a couple canned IPAs in the local bottle shop today so I grabbed 4 paks of each ($8.99 each) to give em a whirl. First I will say both are quality crafted beers. But based on the descriptions on the cans they are fails compared to my experience. I will finish the 4 paks but with the a different mindset. On the can of the Vertex IPA 6.3% 76 IBU it talks about being a West Coast or Rocky Mountain Hop Forward IPA and really it compares to Founders Centennial IPA, so not bad just not what I expected. The Hoperation Overload Double IPA 9.6% 85 IBU with the description of massive hops added. Tasty for sure but not a hop explosion as I expected. I chalk all this up to them being based in Central Illinois and the palate being kinda bland in the mid west - not trying to offend any of you residing there (my relatives are all near Peoria - Pekin, etc) but these are the facts I know from experience. Good beers but not what I was led to believe by the words on the outside of the cans. Cheers!
