Destination Imagination relies on hundreds of volunteers to support the over 1,200 teams that participate around the world every year. Right now, we know teams in Tennessee are working to recruit APPRAISERS who will be trained by DI and will serve to support our talented teams at regional and state tournaments. Appraisers can register without representing a team by visiting registeryourteam.org/appraiser (or, to represent your team, make sure you provide them with your unique team number). If you need help recruiting appraisers, here are some suggestions: - Your facebook/twitter/instagram friends! - Parents (but remember they wont be able to see their child perform) - Aunts, uncles, grandparents, other family - Family friends - Church/temple/mosque friends - Neighbors, Neighborhood Associations - Co-workers - People you do business with (e.g., your banker, hair stylist, doctor, mechanic, etc.) - Elected officials, school board members, etc. - Businesses, particularly those that value employee volunteerism (Wells Fargo, ... etc.) - Community groups / service clubs (Kiwanis, Rotary, Junior League) - PTO / PTA groups - Teachers, student teachers, school administrators, facilities staff - Local theater groups - Past DI participants from your school that have graduated - College students often need community service hours (you might try reaching them through relevant student organizations, or through the Service-Learning directors) - If you recruit one appraiser – asking them if they have a friend theyd like to bring along.
