Destroyers scare Boca in horrendous conditions Boca Seniors took on Dromara Destoyers in a game that Boca were expected to win . Danny Roberts went head to head with his great friend but rival on the night Stephan Hanna. The game kicked off in horrible conditions the rain pelting down on the surface. Destroyers started the game on fire running Boca into the ground Jordy crossed for the head of Stephen Hanna he leapt like a salmon only for Josh Bunting to tip the ball over the bar. Boca started so poor very unlike the boys in blue however they did undeservedly go into the lead as Aaron Noble played in Adam McDowell to place the ball past Nigel Jackson. Destroyers battled down the hatches and took the game to the shaky Boca team they deservedly equalised when Jordy side stepped Aaron Nobles tackle to wrong foot Bunting the ball going through the legs of the keeper nestling into the net to the frustration of the keeper. Destroyers who havent one as yet this season were the much better team in the first half going into the lead as James Dane superb header wasnt picked up by Ross Anderson in midfield Stephan Hanna driving towards goal to fire past the advancing Bunting. Boca then woke up when Aaron Noble and Adam McDowell the most feared force in the league made it Two each with McDowell laying it off to Noble to drive into the net. Destroyers did not let the head go down creating so many chances Bunting making a superb double save to deny Hanna and then Jonathan Lockhart on the rebound. Noble then made it Three for Boca cutting inside superbly to shoot accurately past the Outstretched Jackson , Destroyers than nearly levelled as Lockharts shot was horribly spilled by Bunting only for James Dane who played very well on the night to clear away off the line. Bocas defending in the first half was somewhat calamitous as Destroyers equalised on the counter attack Hanna playing in Jordy to expertly finish a deserved goal for Hannas Men. Sam Hazlett then had Dromara in the lead for Four-Three as Hannas cross found the rising Hazlett to head home after a poor mistake by Josh Bunting in goal to his frustration. Destroyers were making easy work of Boca putting in their best performance of the campaign but once again Boca Levelled when Luke Gregg played in Aaron Noble to squeeze his shot past Jackson to Rockets delight. Destroyers went in at the break five - four ahead when Hanna played in Lockhart to powerfully strike into the net the ex boca man coming back to haunt his former employees, Half Time Boca 4-5 Dromara Destroyers Danny Roberts got stuck in to his players at the break and they came out all guns blazing playing much better stuff and scoring when Luke Gregg poked home through a crowd of bodys Boca settled down starting to creak up the tempo five then became six when McDowell flicked over the head of a defender to volley past Jackson to put Boca ahead . Destroyers rattled back like a tiger hunting down its prey as Hanna played in Jordy to strike past Bunting after he had made the initial save to deny him , Destroyers levelled the tie soon after when a long ball found Hazlett to notch his second running into the corner to celebrate. Boca then threw Caution to the wind when Noble who has been Bocas Saviour so many times this season put them ahead when he picked up the loose ball to thump into the net past the impressive Nigel Jackson. McDowell then added another for Boca as Destroyers tired after all the heavy running when he headed home from a James Dane corner to ease the pressure on Boca somewhat. Boca then went into overdrive with goal after goal from the two amigos in the shape of McDowell and Noble as the final whistle went the final score of Boca Seniors 13-8 Dromara Destroyers Heres what Boca keeper Josh Bunting had to say after the match I thought we were poor tonight I have to apologise to my team tonight I put in a very poor performance in all honesty I think we were lucky to win and Dromara Destroyers deserved to win, When you have two forwards like us you can afford to make mistakes and am thankful they let me off the hook tonight.
