This exquisite professional lens is obviously popular for its available-light capabilities, but its proven performance makes it ideal for portraits, fashion and even sports. Two Aspherical elements provide thorough correction of spherical aberrations. A ring-type USM means silent AF from 3ft./0.9m to infinity, and full-time electronic manual focusing is also available. A medium telephoto lens with a large aperture brings the subject closer, creates excellent background blur, gives a longer flash range, and affords a faster shutter speed to freeze the action. A standard zoom lens, with its natural angle of view and perspective, captures the subject plainly, with no special effects. However, you can use standard lenses in creative ways by varying the subject distance, aperture, and angle. Product Description This is simply an amazing lens. Unfortunately, the focus has become unreliable and I do not know how to fix it. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it works sporadically, and sometimes it just stops. Because this is a focus-by-wire lens, the manual focus has the same problem as auto. When it focuses properly, you wont believe the incredible images this thing produces are. However, because of the focusing issue, I am selling the lens as-is and cannot accept returns for any reason. Be sure to ask all questions prior to purchasing. This lens is used and shows signs of wear. Please view the images to see the nicks around the filter ring and some of the minor scratches on the body. Despite the wear on the body, the glass is completely flawless inside and out. This is priced to sell and could be an incredible deal for those of you who are mechanically or electronically inclined. I have not had it professionally checked and I do not claim to know what is causing the issue.
