Detained and release without any charges before a competence court - TopicsExpress

Detained and release without any charges before a competence court (s) of Law, the president of the Republic of South Sudan Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit issued a presidential decree ordering the release of political and military detainees some of whom spent relatively quite long period of time in military controlled facilities for nearly two to three years until the time when their release was ordered and read out through the state owned SSTV. Though the reason (s) which led to their release had not been made public by the president, I think many people began to think twice as to what prompted the head of state to issued that rare decree pardoning the very people he accuses of causing insecurity which to some extent threatened the national security of the Republic of South Sudan. The Republic of South Sudan since its independence being marred by many rebellions led by former SPLA officers and some politicians accusing the state of failing to address some basic problems and issues related to irregularities dating back to April 2010 general elections which led to the rebellion of the Late Gen. George Athor Deng Dut and the on going Jonglei rebellion led by a former Theology dropped out student David Yaw Yaw. To my understanding the Republic of South Sudan need peace within it self to be able to deal with some serious external challenges and the issue of Abyei could not be solved without a unifying force with concrete political agenda of fostering a good image of the Country in the international arena. On the other hand the pardoning of Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin caries different perspectives since no credible evidence supporting his link with armed group (s) and the fate of Hon. Abdul Rahaman Sule lies with his former Party the United Democratic Front if you like which disowned him after his allege rebellion which resulted into his arrest by the security apparatus in 2011 in the western Equatoria County of Morobo. In this regard it imperative to underscore that peace is beyond individuals interest if South Sudan as a nation should stand a chance of physical infrastructures and economics developments which can not happened without stability in the Country. Last and not lease, security is a number government responsibility under the transitional constitution of the Republic of South Sudan, therefore am urging the government through its security organs to effectively deal with insecurity that is almost tarnishing the good image of the people of South Sudan. There is also credible reason to applaud the newly appointed Minister of interior Aleu Ayany Aleu for robust taking measure pertaining to public order and safety. By: Simon Duop Jacob - Jickok Jr
