Detroit Hustles Harder Spotlight of the day... For a lot of people this is the last day of summer, Labor Day. Tomorrow the kids go back to school and we all go back to work. Today is pretty much the last day of our festival season and there are festivals all over the city and in the surrounding suburbs. Our Jazz Fest is the best in the country, but Im sure every city that has a Jazz Fest says that. There is something very magical about Jazz floating, riffing out over Hart Plaza and out onto the Detroit River and drifting south to Canada. If you are sitting in the right spot you are enjoying all of this and smelling some of the best food the city has to offer. Though Hamtramck is not Detroit, we love our little island neighbor Hamtown. They know how to throw a Labor Day party and they make the coolest posters for their festival. Its an artsy, down to Earth community and they have the best Polish Food in the Tri-county area. You can smell the festival as soon as you hit one to the borders of Hamtown. Whether you are rocking out or dancing the Polka you are going to work up an appetite. While you are standing in line waiting for all of that mouth-watering food whether you are at Hart Plaza or on the Streets of Hamtramck you are going to appreciate that Detroit Food Vendors Hustle Harder; they are Detroit! They hustle harder even if they are in Hamtramck because our Detroit hustle is catchy! Have a fun Labor Day!
