Developing a strong sense of soft culture is a step in the right direction. Do recognise its extremely paradoxical to postulate this because soft culture in this day and age serves an exportable economic gain in attracting a certain calibre of high-skilled talent. So it is in essence another means to serve an economic interest. Now, the issue then endemic in the system is not to merely focus on traits such as critical thinking, creativity, resilience, compassion etc, but to understand that at the heart of it, these traits are not quantifiable and thus should not be treated as such. So we cant have the system grade such skills or insist that teachers quantify a fixed set of pre-determined measures to ensure that the child has successfully acquired the skill set. It starts from the environment, and the emancipation of longstanding social engineering. If people think that by doing certain exercises, exams or working towards quantitative goals develop soft traits, well... That sort of thinking works in MMORPGs, not IRL.
