Dhammacakka Day - People observed across the country ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Being the fullmoon day of Waso, Buddhist devotees in Myanmar observed Dhammacakka Day at the pagodas across the country, yesterday. The 6th waso robe offering ceremony took place at the Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw. The Union Minister for Religious Affairs, officials and well wishers offered the waso robes to the Buddha Images and donated offertories to monks. Being a day of religious significance, pagodas in Nay Pyi Taw were packed with people who made meritorious deeds and practiced meditation. In the evening, the religious associations from the townships in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area recited Dhammacakka sutta and parittas at the pagodas. In Yangon, the Buddhist devotees led by the Pagoda Board of Trustees donated waso robes and alms food at the Buddha Images in the Shwedagon Pagoda. Likewise, the waso robe offering ceremonies were held at the pagodas in Yangon and the pagodas were crowded with those who took Sabbath and made donations as well as merit seekers.
