Dhanbad, July 29: The father of a six-year-old girl studying in a reputable school today charged a pre-teen boy with the rape of his daughter inside a toilet on campus this afternoon. Both students of De Nobili School, Bhuli, the 12-year-old boy allegedly threatened the girl with a pair of scissors around 1.30pm, forced her inside a toilet just half an hour before school closed for the day and assaulted her. The matter came to light an hour later when the child, after reaching her Wasseypur home, refused to go to the bathroom and change her uniform. When her mother asked her why, she started crying and complained about pain in her genitals. The mother quickly called her husband, an employee with a private firm, home. Probed, the child told her parents what happened. Immediately, her father went to meet principal Father Victor. There, he learnt that the girl had complained to the school’s vice-principal Father Tony that the boy punched her in her abdomen. A police team led by DSP (law and order) Amit Kumar has spoken to the girl’s father, the school principal and other parents. The girl has been sent for medical check-up at Patliputra Medical College and Hospital. Kumar added the girl, in her statement, said the boy raped her. “The matter would be clear once the medical reports of the girl came in. If charges are proven, the boy will be punished under juvenile law,” he said. The boy was picked up from his Wasseypur home around 8.30pm. He has been detained for questioning. “The children were rehearsing for the school’s annual day when this incident happened. My daughter said the boy brandished a pair of scissors and threatened her with murder,” the shocked father said. Father Victor said for now the boy would be issued a TC.
