Dhuhr (Mid-Day Prayer) After Mid-Day Until Afternoon 4 Sunnah (recite another Surah afer al-Fatihah) 4 Fard (after tashahhud, only receite al-Fatihah and another other Surah) 2 Sunnah 2 Nafl Niyyah (Intentions) “I intend to say (2 Sunnah, 2 Fard, 2 Sunnah, 2 Nafl) rak’ahs of Salatul Dhuhr for Allah facing al-Ka’bah.” 1st Rak’ah Takbiratul Ihram (All wordly things forbidden to you.) Raise hands to ears (men) or shoulders (women and girls), saying “Allahu Akbar.” Allah is the Greatest Place right hand over left below navel (men) or on chest (women and girls). Recite Thana subhanakallähumma wa bi hamdika wa tabarakasmuka wa ta‘ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuka O Allah, glory and praise are for you, and blessed is your name, and high is your majesty and none is worthy of worship but you a‘udhu billahi minash-shaitanir-rajim I seek shelter in Allah from the rejected satan Bismilllahir rahmanir rahim In the name of Allah, the most merciful, the most kind Recite quietly Suratul Fatihah alhamdulillähi rabbil-‘älamïn All praise belongs to Allah, the lord of the universe arrahmänir-rahïm The most merciful, the most kind mäliki yaumiddin Master of the day of judgement iyyäka na‘budu wa iyyäka nasta‘ïn You alone we worship, to you alone we pray for help ihdinassirätal-mustaqïm Guide us along the right path sirätalladhïna ana‘mta ‘alaihim The path of those whom you favoured ghairil-maghdübi ‘alaihim waladdällïn Not of those who deserve your anger or went astray Recite softly, Amin Ameen Recite any other passage from Qur’an. Darud (aka, Salah ‘alan nabiy--blessings for the prophet) Remain seated and recite quietly allähumma salli ‘ala muhammadi(n)wwa ‘ala ali muhammadin kama sallaita ‘alä ibrahïma wa ‘ala ali ibrahïma innaka hamidummajïd O Allah, let your blessing come upon Muhammad, and the family of Muhammad as you blessed Ibrahim and his family, truly you are the praiseworthy and glorious allahumma barik ‘ala muhammadi(n)wwa ‘ala ali muhammadin kama bärakta ‘ala ibrahïma wa ‘ala ali ibrahïma innaka hamidummajid O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as you blessed Ibrahim and his family, truly you are the praiseworthy and glorious After this, say any of the folllowing du’a’s (supplications): rabbana atina fiddunya hasanata(n)wwa fil akhirati hasanata(n)wwa qina ‘adhabannar Our Lord, bestow on us good in this world and good in the hereafter and shield us from the torment of the fire Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran wa la yaghfirudh dhunuba illa anta faghfir li maghfiratan min ‘indika warhamni innaka antal ghafurur rahim. O Allah, I have been very unjust to myself and no one grants pardon against sins but You, therefore forgive me with Your forgiveness and have mercy on me. Surely, You are the Forgiver, the Merciful (al-Bukhari and Muslim) Rabbij’alni muquimas salati wa min dhurriyati rabbana wa taqabbal du’a’. Rabbanaghfir li wa liwalidaiya wa lilmu’minina yawma yaqumul hisab. O Lord, make me and my children steadfast in Salah; our Lord, accept the prayer. Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day of Judgement. (Surah Ibrahim 14: 40-41) Turn face right, saying ”assalamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullah” Peace and the mercy of Allah be on you (Turning head right) Turn face left, saying ”assalamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullah” Peace and the mercy of Allah be on you (Turning head left)
