Diary of a Shop Girl – Post # 163 . . . The Shop Girl is used to strange and unusual attire. She sees it all day long while posing as a shop girl. She’s seen too much flesh (it is summertime in the OC), not enough flesh (foreign women literally covered from head to toe), and then there’s the something in-between that’s just not explainable. Just yesterday the Shop Girl saw several scarf-clad women clustering about, excitedly talking and pointing at one of the display cases. As the Shop Girl approached, she noticed “the little princess” not only wearing excessive amounts of jewelry, but she was also wearing a small black fur cape upon her shoulders (on top of a white t-shirt). The Shop Girl herself is a big fan of capes but a fur cape in the midst of summer does seem inexplicable. Could it be the little princess found the weather in the OC so much milder than her homeland, that perhaps the cape kept the mild sea breezes at bay? No doubt, there was some sort of explanation why some poor animal’s pelt made its way to the little princess’s shoulders, but the Shop Girl cannot understand why it would be a considered any kind of fashion statement.
