This information originated from twitter on 11th July and was published by many middle east based news sites. Without verifying the authenticity, our countrymen has been spreading it like wildfire. Ozil is a practicing Muslim and an accomplished footballer, and he just won the world cup. But, 1. No, he did not fast during the world cup 2014. 2. He only fasts if theres a day off or he is not playing and if it is Ramadan. 3. He paid for the surgery of 11 sick children in Brazil. He pledged to pay the same for another 12. His agent has denied the Gaza donation news.
