Did anyone happen to notice I showed up here there this morning at 7 a.m.? At 6 I was up and didnt hear the sump pump running each minute as it has for the past week, apart from Monday morning when debris jammed the float mechanism and it shut off. Went downstairs, cellar flooded again, a couple of inches deeper than before. Woke up dear husband and he checked. Hose to drain dehumidifier was vented into the sump pump hole and wasnt fastened to anything, so it floated and jammed the float ball of the pump. I can remember installing that drain hose 15 years ago into the sump hole, which I thought was a good idea instead of constantly emptying the reservoir in the dehumidifier, and I tied it to the solid upright post of the sump pump so it wouldnt float around and get stuck. But they dont do anything like that on a construction site. :-) So now I have to go down again and see what damage is done, I spent 5 hours down there on Tuesday cleaning up. I have camping items stored on a plastic shelf unit and I think the water was deeper this time. Sigh.
