Did not realize that I was given a gift of Collin McPhees Tabuh-Tabuhan (Concerto for 2 Pianos , percussion, and orchestra) full orchestral score, with (I dont want to speculate , dare I say) an authentic -- ehmm... signature (of C.M. himself) ?? On the inside page of this very old score.... (it was a gift from 2004 or 2005 , in NYC). So thankful and blessed !! Tabuh-Tabuhan, composed in 1930s, was premiered in Mexico City in 1936... long before the minimalistic composer movement of Steve Reich, John Adams, Terry Riley, and Philip Glass took place. And of course, inspired by the endless beauty, spirituality, depth, and fascination of the Island of Bali, where lots of great artists such as Leopold Godowsky (piano), Walter Spies (painter), Pablo Casals (cello), Lili Krauss (piano), and Collin McPhee (composer), have visited and drew inspiration from.
