Did someone say purple???? Some more PURPLES.... :D IDENTIFICATION: Natural Sapphire (Corundum) CARAT WEIGHT: 3.70 carats QTY. / CUT - SHAPE: 1 / Step EC - Rectangular MEASUREMENT: 10 x 7.2mm COLOR / QUALITY: Lavender Purple / AAA+ CLARITY / TYPE: VVS2 near flawless (10X) / TYPE II TREATMENTS / ENHANCEMENTS: N (no evidence of any enhancements to this stone) ORIGIN: Tanzania - Amanimakoro CERTIFICATE / REPORT #: 001744TPS COMMENTS: Would make an excellent stone for a ring or pendant. Very durable stones for every day use. Here is a very gorgeous Sapphire where the gem rough was mined from Amanimakoro in the Mbinga District of the Ruvuma Region in Tanzania, East Africa. It has a natural untreated lavender purple color hue that will dazzle you with its natural beauty many times over. A rarer gem indeed! Probably one of the greatest gem discoveries of the last 50 years has been the areas of Tunduru, Songea, and Amanimakoro of the Ruvuma Region of Southern Tanzania, Africa. The foremost exciting gem to come out from this region is the Sapphire (among others as well). Bright fancy colors of purple, blue, pinks, some yellows & oranges! This material is just incredible and because this material is so incredible, the government of Tanzania is trying to control all mining in the area. Some other great areas in Tanzania known for fantastic Corundum deposits are in the Tanga, Arusha, Rukwa, Morogoro, and the Dodoma Regions. Fantastic material indeed!
