Did the Mars Curiosity rover just discover life?! Thats one of several possible answers for what it has detected! There was a two-month spike in methane levels on Mars detected by the rover. One possible, somewhat reasonable explanation could be that some microbial life has been detected. Now, this isnt confirmation of anything, because other, non-biological explanations (even just geology) exist. But its extremely exciting to think about, and a great reminder that we really could discover alien life any day now! Im confident well see first contact with some sort of alien life form within the century, even if thats not a Vulcan!
