Did you know??? JUST because you have a: Catalytic converter efficiency below threshold code, It does NOT mean you require a new converter; costing YOU SEVERAL hundreds of dollars?!? Too many times I see people getting BENT OVER THE BARREL due to someone elses GREED. It often simply becomes a bit clogged with NORMAL carbon deposits & can be removed, cleaned with; ~Get this gang: ~Dawn dish SOAP & WATER!!! Then, put back on for ANOTHER 100,000 + miles of service. The ONLY reasons they need be replaced are: Rot (rust) Clogged (Came apart) or someone had a misfire & it melted inside (Clogged). THEN when you have it replaced, the automobile service place TAKES your old: JUNK Converter & sells IT for even MORE profit! Often for an additional $100-$150! Did you KNOW THAT?? In my opinion & Im sure yours as well, its called STEALING. Not mentioning it to you is the same thing, isnt it??? If the technician tells you: Well, yours cannot be removed to clean... Again, there are several other options, such as: Before & after said catalytic converters are these things called Bungs They are threaded holes before & after your catalytic converter with which your oxygen sensors go to: You guessed it, MONITOR your catalyst & oxygen content in your exhaust. One can simply remove said oxygen sensors, place a tube/hose, flush with hot soapy water, rinse & repeat, just like your hair!!! So, before you get railed; AGAIN... ASK! Theres a trade Secret A LOT of people wont like! Oh, & Its ILLEGAL to remove a functioning catalytic converter, Its a FEDERAL crime 5 years/$10,000. Just a little info for you poor people getting it over the barrel.
