Did you know The National Guard has a military working dog training facility? The Connecticut National Guards 928th Military Police Working Dog Detachment is manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is the only U.S. Army Guard/Reserve component military working dog unit in the U.S. Since the detachment began operations in 2007, the dog teams have supported presidential missions, deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and trained with Uruguayan military as part of their states #StatePartnershipProgram, to name a few. Theyre currently scheduled to support the patrol and explosives detection mission at this years The Boston Marathon. Theyve done, and continue to do, some amazing work!
