Did you know? The horses esophagus is 4-5 feet long. The stomach holds about 10 liters of fluid. The small intestinal tract is 70-80 feet long and is comprised (in order) of the duodenum, jejunum, and the ileum. The cecum is 3-4 feet long and holds approximately 30 liters of fluid. The colon is shaped like a double stacked horse shoe and is about 15 feet long. It holds about 75 liters of fluid. The small colon is about 12 feet long, and is where fecal balls are formed.
