Did you know graduate students carry 40% of all student debt? Part of the problem is that Congress treats graduate students differently than undergraduates. This massive amount of debt will have long-term economic impacts on the country. Wednesday November 19th, UNT Graduate Student Council will join a nationwide campaign in which graduate students around the country will call their representatives and voice their concerns about this issue. GSC will provide facts sheets, scripts, and other tools to assist in the phone calls. Make sure that your department’s voice is heard. Students can gather to make calls in the Willis Library Forum from 10am-12pm. In return GSC is providing a turkey dinner with sides from Bet The House BBQ. We have included a flyer to distribute to your department, and strongly encourage that you speak to your fellow students about coming out next Wednesday. We also realize that this time and location may not be convenient for everyone. That is why we will post all the materials to make phone calls on our Facebook event page so that everyone can participate regardless of their schedule. Be sure to share our Facebook event with your department and friends. Together we can make a difference.
