Did you know that Ben Davis has a winning record against most of the schools that have participated in the Indianapolis City Basketball Tournament? Here are the records the Giants have against city teams since 1933 (Note: Some of the schools listed opened after 1933): 18-10 versus Arlington; 31-27 against Arsenal Tech; 2-4 versus Bishop Chatard; 26-15 against Broad Ripple; 8-0 versus Cardinal Ritter; 18-19 against Cathedral; 3-11 versus Crispus Attucks; 11-16 against Howe; 2-0 versus Indiana School for the Deaf; 34-18 against Manual; 3-2 versus Marshall; 44-17 against Northwest; 8-2 versus Sacred Heart (now part of Roncalli); 4-2 against Scecina; 8-31 versus Shortridge; 36-33 against Washington; and 1-0 versus Wood. Ben Davis has a winning record against 12 of the 17 schools that have participated in the city tournament. Not bad at all! It was mentioned last year that the Giants have a winning record against every school that has participated in the Marion County Basketball Tournament, with the lone exceptions of Lutheran and Roncalli, whom BD has never faced!
