Did you know that: Effectiveness begins with you. What you want to do easily, you must first do diligently. Background - As far back as the 1970s, the Carnegie Institute of Technology in the United States of America curiously went in search of that singular factor that an individual’s financial success depends on. In its research findings it postulated that a meagre 15% of an individual’s financial success is depended on his or her technical skills, but amazingly, a whopping 85% of the same individual’s financial success is depended on his or her ability to be efficient and effective in personal and professional life through the mastering of certain skills referred to today as soft skills for personal and workplace effectiveness. Recruitment consultants, human resource experts and behavioural scientists all over the world have unanimously agreed that people bring more than just technical skills to their work; they require soft skills- chief of which is personal and workplace effectiveness skills, if they must succeed phenomenally (in personal and professional life). Personal Effectiveness is what makes the average outstanding and lack of it makes the expected-to-be-outstanding average or below it. Another survey shows that 96% of an individual’s or team’s or organisations success is largely dependent on how well that individual or team or organisation can be efficient and effective in (its vision, mission, goals, values, objectives etc.) with respect to their service delivery to it their customers/ clients. Personal and Workplace Effectiveness is therefore an inevitable 21st century skill for individual and organisational differentiation. For any individual or team or organisation to remain relevant in the ever dynamic market, people, processes and products must continue to get better through better performance of the individual’s or team’s or organisation’s workforce via the acquisition of relevant skills. The Challenge - To ensure that the vision and mission of respective organisations represented by participants is communicated consistently and effectively in the people (professional and non-professional) as well as has been articulated in the place and product.
