Did you know that Utah is the last state to limit ballot access to only a caucus-convention system? This means that candidates for office are chosen by party delegates, which are selected at party caucus meetings held once every two years. Utahns who cannot attend this meeting – whether they are out of town, sick, working, serving in the military, or caring for children – are excluded from the process. Count My Vote is working to modernize our election system, giving all Utah voters a voice in choosing candidates. This is the most important civic issue facing Utahns today. To succeed in changing Utah’s election system, Count My Vote is collecting 102,000 signatures on a citizens initiative petition. Volunteers are needed to help collect these signatures and play other roles within the organization. To volunteer contact Caitlin McKelvie at [email protected]
