Did you know that a working vehicle is sometimes the one obstacle standing between a hard working person and a sustainable life? Vehicle breakdown can set forth a cascading set of disastrous effects that modern living (working at a distance from our jobs not mitigated by public transportation) is not built to handle. Yes we can invest in systems that address this problem. Yes we can strive to seek and create work in our local communities. Yes we can reach out to friends and neighbors and family for short term support. Yes there are services for certain kinds of circumstances which provide transportation for medical appointments or the elderly. All of these matter. But what we also need are vehicles for the working poor. Mechanics, car dealerships, and private owners willing to donate services or working vehicles can be a part of the solution. Have you been in this position? Are you in it now? Are you in a position to help? We are working on a program designed to meet this pervasive need. Sometimes the modest cost of a reliable vehicle is so very little money and yet so very much. Spread the word. There is help and need around every little corner.
