Since ancient times, sailors considering a ship’s cat, for catching mice and rodents aboard, chose a black one for good luck. Fishermen’s wives also kept black cats at home, believing their protective powers would keep their husbands safe at sea. Great things have been happening here at HSKC since this gal, Tyra arrived. Perhaps she’s our good luck charm! Tyra, a sleek brownish-black kitty who is less than a year old, was left in the shelter’s drop room one day. This beautiful gal is currently up for adoption at HSKC and in search of a good home. An affectionate cat, Tyra loves to be held. She’s young and looking for a companion to play with.
