Did you know that both JetBlue and Virgin America are also organizing? Here are some excerpts from their websites. Please note that our corporations have a few things in common: Do you see similarities? I love my job and my company. However, I no longer believe in the value of the direct relationship they claim we have. We have lost the caring value, decisions are made with only the bottom line in mind and we, the face of the company, are secondary and expendable. Standing united is the only hope we have to ensure our individual futures with Jetblue. “Now is the time, our flight attendant workgroup stand together to form one united voice. Together, we are truly organized, prepared, and empowered to “sit at the table” and execute a true “direct relationship” with our company... There is no third party. There is only us. We are JetBlue. We are the Union. I love JetBlue and I know you do too. Let’s band together and bring “humanity” back to JetBlue Inflight!” I have been in this industry for 18 plus years and really enjoy JetBlue and its culture. THIRD PARTY VX ITMs will negotiate our contract VX ITMs will then vote to accept or reject the contract VX ITMs will elect fellow ITMs to serve as our officers VX ITMs will handle discipline and contract enforcement on a daily basis VX ITMs will have full backing, support, and training from TWU in all matters WE’LL LOSE OUR “DIRECT” RELATIONSHIP Having a union doesn’t mean you can’t have a good relationship with leadership. BUT WE HAVE A UNIQUE CULTURE; WE’RE REINVENTING TRAVEL AS WE KNOW IT. WHY WOULD WE FORM A UNION? We can and will still create the Wow! for our guests and our fellow ITMs while having a voice at work. Have a real voice in our future and create a professional partnership with management- Right now, management makes all the rules; in a union setting, the rules are negotiated by us and management. Currently mgmt decides what we will be paid and what benefits we will receive; with a voice at work and seat at the bargaining mgmt is required to negotiate with us on all pay and benefit issues. YOU WILL LOSE THE WAGES AND BENEFITS YOU CURRENTLY HAVE Bargaining begins with what we have and we work from there ITMs will be surveyed to find out what they want in the contract Every ITM will have the opportunity to vote on the proposed contract Would you vote for something that was less than what you already have?
