Did you know that the Augustus Barnett Off License was actually a money making enterprise owned ultimately by the Catholic nutcase self-flagellating mad monks of Opus Dei? I often wondered why the ladies that worked there looked so uptight, smoked rollies and had facial hair. Does anyone else have any memories of Augustus Barnett and whilst Im here lying like a patient etherised upon a surgeons table and typing this out with one of those head pensticks made famous by Stephen Hawking could someone pop to the shop for me and pick up my copy of Crumpsall Wives, a bag of cashew nuts and some Vaseline?
