Did you know that the Polynesian Cultural Centers 57 foot waa - TopicsExpress

Did you know that the Polynesian Cultural Centers 57 foot waa kaulua, which was christened, IOSEPA, is moored in the famous Hukilau Bay, preparing to make its way to Kauai? This double-hulled canoe, carved completely out of beautiful tropical hardwoods, by Master Carver Sione Sione T Pulotu Sr. & Kawika Eskaran in 2001, is more than just a boat. It serves as a floating classroom, on which students learn not only about the history and the lives of their navigating ancestors, but also leadership skills, unity, and life-enhancing values that stay with them for the rest of their lives. We pray for the safety of the Iosepa and her crew as they voyage into the deep blue ocean, just as our Polynesian ancestors did, with Mother Nature as their Navigator. God speed!
