Did you know that there are more Ugandans who have died and are given a paupers burial in SA than those taken back to Uganda to their loved ones? I know a few. One man whose names I will not reveal, died in 2005 in Zonderwater Prison, east of Pretoria. But before; I had met this man through my work I was doing in prisons (Public Health training). He fell sick and later died. Immediately, I was contacted by the prison authorities to see whether I would be of help to trace his family and repatriate the body to Uganda. I tried to trace his family in but failed. He was buried somewhere in Johannesburg. Have you lost trace of a loved one in South Africa? Chances are, they are somewhere alive. But its also possible they might have passed away and buried in South Africa. Pray for their souls!
