Did you try the parking brake? Was the question of my night... so lets play this out... Driving with 4 kids in tow, to the after hours clinic. (25-30 mph) Its drizzling. You come to a road with a stop light-on red- ahead of you and a car stopped; to your left a gas station and your right a yield with no cars entering. You need to turn right so you slow down and the brakes are GONE! There is a car behind you and if you go staight you crash, turn left a gas station and right is a longer road no cars but you are going too fast.. -decision- turn right... car spins out but you regain control, still with a car behind you. Coming up on your left is 2 sharp 90° turns and to the right 3 sharp 90° turns and 1 45° turn... you take the 45° because straight ahead is yet another stop light and on red with cars stopped... the turn you take is the ER ambulance entrance and has a decline. You go through the entrance down the decline (speed up!) and a nursing home is to your front to your left is too sharp and your right (straight) heads down a hill that will lead you into the metal gate for the fair grounds! Also to the right is another right turn leading to an incline empty parking lot! -you take the 2 rights slow down put it into park... and still run into the parking wall. :( Oh yes ALL the while your 4 kids are screaming bloody murder because the spin out!! And now even more because the crash! So... NO I DID NOT USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE!! I couldnt even think straight with 4 screaming kids and all the cars around me! We are lucky as shit we crashed at about 10 or so (I am totally guessing) miles into the parking wall!! So thankful all of us are ok. As for my truck... absolutely no brakes and a big dent. :( I am so glad the majority (currently sitting pretty with clear thoughts) can remember their parking brake! As for me... hey my kids are safe and so am I!
