Didi prepares for Medeama Posted on: Fri Jun 28, 2013 @ asantekotokosc 2012/13 Glo Premier League winning Coach, Mas-ud Didi Dramani is already making plans for Medeama SC after ably winning the league title on the last match day of the season with a 1-0 win over Amidaus Professionals. The Asante Kotoko coach is confident the Porcupines have gotten the right booster needed to complete the football season with the FA Cup against the Tarkwa giants at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra. Speaking to asantekotokosc on the preparations being made by the team towards that encounter, Coach Didi disclosed he has lined up some friendly games for the squad within the next two weeks. “The team will resume training today with a shakeup at the Kumasi Polytechnic. We have lined up a friendly game the following Wednesday and Saturday. We will round it up with another friendly game the following Wednesday against Feyenord, a club which just qualified for the Division One”. When asked the effect the league title triumph would have on his players going into the coming game, Coach Dramani, in his usual optimistic posture, maintained “the confidence of the players have increased tremendously by the title win and they are remaining focused for the upcoming game. "I felt elated last Sunday, no question about that, but it was also normal for me. We performed well throughout the season and we really deserved the title. But I want to keep my focus as I go into my last difficult match of the season. “It is good for us coaches and players to play such cup final matches. But once you get there, the ultimate then is that you win it. That is what we want to do and we will prepare ourselves well for it”. Kotoko’s run at the initial stages of the premier league season, to some people, was wobbling and many had doubts if the club could retain the title but Coach Dramani maintains, who remained confident through those period maintained that that should not have been the case. “Of course there were those who doubted our ability especially when we were not giving them the results. What hurts is that they did not see our results back then was because we were missing some players and because we had just arrived from Algeria and that some of the players were tired. But I kept my confidence because I knew what I was about”. By: Gideon Boakye Botchway
