Dig this post from Colin Aberdeen.....and come see Howard HoJo Johnson at the Salt City Waltz! This is a track by Taj Mahal, probably my greatest influence, which features the legendary Howard Johnson on Tuba, who will be on The Salt City Waltz w us as a member of the Midnight Ramble Horns or whatever their working title is. . I am still somewhat in disbelief that my pal, Stacey, pulled off this relative coup, for our region, of getting these guys, especially, Howard Johnson to come and play this show w us. . I have been groovin out to this track for over 30 years and cant wait to play w these guys! . . .As a side note, this track is the best bang for buck, when playing tunes on one of those dreadful, regional music excluding, digital juke boxes, that have supplanted the traditional jukeboxes, which allowed the venue to reflect their tastes. Let it fly!!! It is one the most wickedly groovin songs I have ver heard in my life and in large part due to the tuba section, thats right, folks, the tuba section, led by Howard Johnson. . I still cannot believe we are gonna be playing w him. . .this. . .is gonna be off the hook!!
