Dilapidated roads: People warn of agitation =>The residents of Lasjan, Padshahi Bagh, Soiteng and other adjacent areas of Chadoora Constituency are up in arms against the Roads and Buildings department and MLA Chadoora for its failure to repair the dilapidated roads in the area. People have threatened of stir in case the roads are not macadamized up to July 4. “The authorities did not pay attention to our woes. We have been suffering badly as from last 5 years all the roads are in shambles,” a resident of Lasjan told CNS. “The link roads are in complete shambles and despite repeated pleas, the concerned department has failed to undertake any repair works,” the residents of Padshahi Bagh said adding that the commuters were facing huge inconvenience due to potholed roads. “Several mishaps have occurred on these roads and many people have suffered grievous injuries,” the residents said adding the concerned authorities have turned blind eye towards the issue. “During rains, the potholes get filled with water making the pedestrian movement very difficult,” the residents of the area said. The residents said that despite holding many demonstrations seeking immediate repairs of these roads, the concerned department showed lackadaisical attitude towards the issue. “We approached the officials of R&B Department and concerned MLA many times with representations, but they turned deaf ears to our repeated pleas,” they said adding that if roads are not macadamized till July 4, people of these areas will come on roads and will hold massive demonstration against the Authorities.
