Dillibazar, Kathmandu November 13, 2014 (27th Kartik, 2071) Due to the poor result of SLC even the scholars or whom we call professors blame to the poor performance of SLC students to the teachers. Being a teacher I accept it through my heart and react that a teacher is not a single component who has to take all responsibility of the failure of SLC. There are other reasons behind it. Let me point out some other significance here: i. The professors who are blaming to the school teachers for being unable to deliver the good performance of school students are more responsible than the school teachers in the sense that the present school teachers are their products. It means that what type of education as well as skills they delivered to their students when they were in their yard for higher education is delivering to their students. ii. Educational institutions either for school level or for university level should be no different than the temple or stupa or church from where everyone seeks peace. It means schools must be Zone of Peace. No one should be allowed to do strike. If the concerned ones want to make them aware of contemporary happenings, the curriculum for school students should include the content that can fulfill the demands. iii. Ministry of Education and the government of Nepal are more responsible to the poor performance it’s because they are being unable to put their plan into action effectively. While appointing teachers they appointed their kiths and keens rather than teachers but are victimized today. iv. Schools without enough skilled teachers, teaching materials, infrastructure, library, toilets, water supply, poor health conditions of students are other parts that are hampering the students’ performance. v. Administrators who do not care about schools but only for their own benefits are being unable to work as bridge between students, teachers and guardians. vi. For most of teachers, schools have not been the places of devotion but seem as they are the places to get salary. It is due to very low payment. The payment given by the government is only for miscellaneous but not enough for surviving. Here are some tips to uplift the status of schools performance: Firstly every teacher should know that he/she is not for teaching but for stimulating students to learn. If a teacher is able to stimulate students, he does not have to teach. Students himself seeks the way to grasp the knowledge. This is the solution. If the teacher knows how to stimulate learners, no problem will be left either there is essential environment or not. A teacher should be like yellow lemons (Nibuwa) that can water everyone tongue if they have already been familiar. Enough payment for teachers for surviving and appointment of devotional teachers who enjoy in teaching profession should be appointed. Cooperation between concerned parts is another way to make educational field better. Teachers should be way from politics but must be familiar with present happenings. Teachers’ organizations or union should work for the sake of improvement of education rather than their own benefit. Educational zone must be the first choice of profession of every new generation. It means it must be like the blessing of elders to the loungers during dashain ,”Let you be master.” Higher education should motivate learners to join in educational zone rather than other fields.
