“Dinner with live jazz” 4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2014 NEW Long overdue dinner with some girlfriends, booked chambers following a friends recommendation. We were attended to immediately on entering the restaurant, whisked off to our table by friendly well presented staff. We were seated in the live jazz area. A combination of the decor, lighting, live music and mannerisms of the staff gave Chambers a lovely ambience. Great range of options on both the food and wine menus for a range of tastes and budgets The waiter who took our order had a good knowledge of the ingredients in various detail down to whether the stock used to cook one item was made with celery/leek/parsley. We were impressed. They didnt quibble when one of us ordered 2 starters and a side, instead of a main, which they refer to as tapas; nice touch. My steak, the Chambers surf and turf, was tasty served with Potato Dauphinoise instead of the chips/new potatoes offered; there wasnt a morsel left by the end. Homemade deserts including ice cream! My perfect place. You get three scoops and I believe there was a choice of 8 to 10 flavours. I opted for white chocolate & passion fruit, Baileys and spiced (nutmeg, cinnamon, all spice), the latter pipping the others on the taste test but not much in it really. Yum yum. Our only quibbles were the rip in the upholstery on the elegant bench at our table, the slight miss-selling of a half pint of prawns (half lettuce/ half prawns) and the burnt brandy snap basket in which the ice cream was served. If it hadnt been for those it would have been 5 out of 5. Courtesy of trip advisor
