When I heard this in 1986, i couldnt understand it and ignored this movie for sometime, till i got to the US, Missing Tamil as a language, I started watching movies like this. It dawned on me this time that what is shown, is the landscape of the mind (rocky beach-side), the fierce waves (alai paayuthu)), written on the mind is name Sindhu. MKB (protogonist) has trouble having fallen in love with Sindhu when he is already married. Unforgettable lyrics (all Vairamuthu) in various songs, Gangai thalaiyinil; mangai idaiyinil... raman oru vagai kannan iru vagai, irandum ulagil sama needhi... etc etc etc. However this one song stands out.
