Director of digital forensics to discuss criminal cases A leading digital forensic expert, Dr Brian Cusack, will address a public meeting organised by the Science and Technology Group of U3A Whanganui on Wednesday afternoon, July 16, at 2pm in the St Andrews Auditorium, 42 Glasgow Street. Dr Cusack is the Director of the Digital Forensic Research Laboratories in Auckland and a Professor at the Security Research Institute in Australia. He has specialised in Digital Forensics and Computer Security for the last 15 years and is a well known international speaker and standards negotiator. He has a connection to Wanganui having attended Mangamahu Primary school. “In this address I shall go through some of the techniques and equipment used to collect digital evidence and look at some of the more interesting and recent NZ cases where digital evidence has been central to the charges laid,” says Brian. All are welcome to the presentation. A charge of $5 will apply to help U3A recover costs, and a cup of tea will follow the presentation. (full story page 3 RCP)
