**Disclaimer** If you happened to grow up in the 70s and you were one of the Original Wonder Years kids... take a minute and see if you remember some of these snapshots of your childhood. Day #91 of Whats Really Important is Where Im from... Im from Captain Kangaroo on KSTF and Blinkys Fun on KWGN. Im from Jiffypop Popcorn & and icecream sandwiches. Im from Double-Mint Gum & Koolaid mustaches. Im from sitting on Doc Bakers brick wall eating drippy dill pickles. Im from Ding-dong-Ditchin in the middle of the afternoon & Kick-the-Can in the dark. Im from Blue Birds & Campfire Girl Ceremonials and Indian Gowns with sewn on rightfully-earned Indian beads. Im from door-to-door selling boxes of mint truffle candies for a buck-twenty-five. Im from making mud-pies with red berries and pouring Pixie stick dust on my tongue. Im from Hubba Bubba and Freshen up Gum-- the gum that goes *Squirt* From climbing up my backyard tree to read my favorite book. From jumping off my garage roof, causing my teeth to shiver in my gums upon landing. Im from playing with metal jax and a bouncy red ball & drawing hopscotch upon the sidewalk with white chalk. From roller-skates with metal keys, and close-pinning playing cards inside my spokes. Im from banana seats and riding without hands in the middle of the street. Im from Click-Clacks, & Sitn-Spins, and Slinkys. Im from Pet Rocks and Shrinky-Dinks. From Barbies secret crush on G.I. Joe (cause even back then, Ken was just too perfect for my Barbie-girls!) Im from Puff N Stuff and Hong Kong Phooey. Im from listening to Casey Kasums American Top 40 countdown & dreaming of dancing on American Bandstandor SoulTrain someday. Im from knowing when its time to come home for dinner when dads whistle could be heard echoing through the neighborhood from as far as 2 blocks away. Im from Mother-Daughter Teas, and Father-Daughter Dinners. Im from Wo-He-Lo, where Wo-He-Lo means Work~ Wo-He-Lo means Health~ Wo-He-Lo means Love. Im from a group of girls called Manuka, a Native American term meaning Friend, who grew up to be women and still remain friends to this day. Im from campfire cookouts with Hobo Dinners in tin foil and Smores on sticks. Im from telling ghost stories in the dark with a flashlight and the 2-finger Lift. Im from See-see oh playmate, Come out and play with me. And bring out your dollies three. Climb up my apple tree. Slide down my rainbow ~ Into my cellar door. And well be jolly friends Forevermore, One-two-three-four! Im from Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. Where Im from is the cornerstone of everything I am today. And every positive thing that I hope for as God blesses me with each new day.
