Discouragement is a sneaky something. If joy comes from the LORD - TopicsExpress

Discouragement is a sneaky something. If joy comes from the LORD and this joy is our strength, then know that discouragement comes straight from the enemy. 1 Peter 5:8 says, Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Discouragement is the mouth with which the enemy seeks to devour you with. Discouragement can come in through the people we interact with, temptations that we entertain, decisions that we make, weaknesses/imperfections in ourselves that we focus on, disappointment when others fail to meet our expectations. Discouragement is that enemy taking a bite out of our purpose. When we begin to feel discouraged we should not just sit there. We are then like lame, oblivious animals, just waiting to be fully devoured by our prey. Soon the discouragement will cover you in darkness, then you are in the mouth of the enemy! When you feel the sting of discouragement, stand up! Become alert! Dont be lethargic. Open the Bible. Pray. Ask for prayer from the person that you know will pray for you. Whatever you do, take action. Yell out to Jesus..mand the discouragement to leave you. Take to your knees in prayer and be honest, be you. Discouragement is sneaky but simple. Once you let it know that you see it....you now have the upper hand! James 4:7-10 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you...
