Discovering America Day 11: Im in Kentucky now, where they sell T-shirts saying Getting Lucky in Kentucky, so my hopes are high. Its rural America here. Television keeps showing this dating add for farmers Because cityfolk just dont understand. No, they dont like funny stuff here, so when I asked for a green tea, the reponse was: What?. And then: Nope. The amount of land here is gigantic, which gives a grear sense of freedom, but also of isolation. The majority of the kids we met this morning at the local highschool has never been to a foreign country, neither to another American state. These kids are voters soon and this lifestyle will determine which leaders they will choose. To my surprise the school principal is trying to learn them more about the outside world, so since a few years they can choose courses such as Japanese, Arabic and Global Issues. Truely inspiring. Heres some photos of Kentuckys great billboards, burbon whiskey, and pedestrian bridges (where they actually play classical music). P.s. For my gay friends: theres one lesbian bar here, its called The Schnitzel-Burg (The Schnitzel-Castle), Im not kidding.
