District Health Officer Dr. Khalid Randhawa along with five other health professionals serving under the Punjab government in Rawalpindi district have been promoted in BPS-19 from BPS-18, however, the provincial health department has decided for Dr. Randhawa that he will continue serving as the DHO. Dr. Randhawa who completed his MSc in Advanced Medical Administration from Quaid-i-Azam University has served as Deputy Medical Superintendent (Administration) at the Holy Family Hospital and Additional Medical Superintendent (Administration) at the Benazir Bhutto Hospital. During 25-year service, he completed 25 professional short courses in medical administration while did a course in Tertiary Care Hospital Management from Thailand in 2010. During his tenure as the DHO, District Rawalpindi, achieved the status of polio-free district in 2011 and 2012 and dengue-free status in 2012. Along with Dr. Randhawa, Director Emergency Medical Services at the HFH Dr. Raja Shafiq Sarwar has also been promoted in BPS-19 and has been asked to continue serving at the same post.
