Disturbing evening mission tonight. Young woman at gas station on - TopicsExpress

Disturbing evening mission tonight. Young woman at gas station on side of 44 & Bowles looking for formula for her infant. She asked me where she could get some for her baby & you could see her choking back tears. I suggested the hospital &she said they had some but her baby has acid reflux & needed a certain kind for that problem. (I understood since Addy had the same thing) Anyway, I suggested churches or maybe firehouse could get her in touch with someone for emergency help. She left & turned into an entrance to a flea bag hotel. It then dawned on me I could check my girls pediatric office & see if they had any samples & Ill track her down. Sure enough that office packed up a go bag with even a couple spare bottles. I went back to look for her & no where to be found. I drove all over the place, asking at many businesses if they had seen her or if she may be staying there. Last place I stopped was the firehouse to see if she came in there looking for help & nothing. Ive left my number all over the place & so far no one has called. I figured Id give her 3 days to surface & then Ill donate the formula to a charity in hopes that someone else will be able to use it. I gave up on my search. I dont do well with failure & I failed on my mission to find her. In retrospect, I could have handled things differently but I was so mentally tired I didnt think very clearly or quickly. I know exactly what to do next time. I just hope someone else can help her feed her baby - no child should ever go hungry - not in the US & a special thanks to the wonderful women who gifted the formula - Im sorry my mission was unsuccessful.
