Divine Appointments- Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns - TopicsExpress

Divine Appointments- Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Acts 16:25 ------- Have you ever been struck in an airport? for 24 hours? in a city where you cant speak the language ? four thousand miles from home? It happened to a friend recently, and we can learned from his response. While most of us would find such an inconvenience intolerable, my friend John saw Gods hand in his delay. As he waited out his forced stay, he looked for opportunities to connect with fellow passengers. He happened to find some fellow Christians from India -------and in talking to them he heard about a ministry they were involved with. In fact, because Johns interest matched his new friends ministry, they invited him to India to participate in a short-term project. How often do we experienced delays, changes of plans and redirection and treat them as intrusions ? It could be that God is detouring us so we can do something different or new for him. Consider Pauls trip to Philippi in Acts 16. He had gone to Macedonia because of God-directed vision . How could he know that he would end up in prison there? But even that trip to jail God-led, because he used Paul to bring salvation to a jailer and his family Vs 25 - 34 . God can use inconveniences in our lives if we look at them as divine appointments - Dave Banton Disappointment --- his appointments change one letter, then I see that the thwarting of my purpose is God better choice for me. God can turn obstacles into opportunities. Dear heavenly Father, I appreciate the fact that You are a Miracle Worker! Lord you turn our disappointments in positive appointments and that brings great comfort to me , if, and when, I ever need a miracle, that I can call on You. Lord, You have blessed me so much compared to many in the world and may I be sensitive to the needs of the poor and your people who is/are experiencing challenges in their lives . Lord, I do not want to be guilty of turning a deaf ear to the cries of those who are in need . Direct my giving, and create a heart of generosity within me, so that I can be used as an instrument of blessing to the many needy in this world. Lord, I desire to also be a good friend to those You have put in my life. May I be the kind of friend who will not shy away from speaking the truth in love when the occasion calls for it. May I also be mindful to encourage my friends and others by demonstrating the true value of your love and your promises. In particularly to always be there for them when they are in need Also, Lord, may I not neglect any friendships and take the time necessary to nurture them. Most importantly Lord, may You always be in the middle of them to transform them into positives attribution. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
