Division 2 Result: Naas United 0-7 Castle Villa (Stuart Kehoe (2), David Doyle, Jamie Doyle, Paddy Murphy, Paul Murphy(pen), Lee Doyle(pen)) A great start saw Villa take the lead after just 3 minutes at Monread this afternoon when David Doyle rose highest to head home Lee Doyles corner. And the VIlla lead was doubled ten minutes later when the Doodles flicked on a pass into the path of Stuart Kehoe who drilled the ball low to the Naas net. Villa didnt let up and were three up when the front two combined again - Doyle again sliding a great ball into the path of Kehoe who snatched his second. Mick Lawler had to be sharp off his line to keep his clean sheet intact with ten minutes remaining as Naas came more into the game, and a good shot from the Naas #9 flashed just over after 42 minutes, leaving the half time score at 3-0 to Villa. Lawler in the Villa goals also made a great save when a cross from the left was diverted towards his own goal by a Villa defender. The second half opened in bizarrely similar fashion to the first with Jamie Doyle getting on the end of a Lee Doyle corner to make it 4 to the visitors. Naas were not completely over run by any means, it was just the quality of delivery from set pieces and the speed of the build up play from Villa that was causing them all sort of problems along with the quality of finishing - In fact they were desperately unlucky when a cracker of a free kick smashed against the crossbar only to come back into play after 52 minutes. Villa keeper Mick Lawler also had to be at his best to keep out two close range efforts with outstretched feet. Roy Ajibade was introduced up front for the excellent David Doyle and almost immediately could have opened his Villa account only for the Naas keeper to make a fantastic save high to his right to deny him. With half an hour remaining, Paddy Murphy got on the scoresheet when yet another Lee Doyle corner caused consternation in the home defence and Murphy was on hand to stab the ball home from a foot out to claim number 5. To be fair to a game Naas side with some really good players, they never stopped pushing forward but tiredness told with two penalties being awarded in the final few minutes of the game, both for fouls on Nathan Doyle, and Lee Doyle and Paul Murphy converted both of these with ease to make it 13 goals in two games for Villa. A great team performance, and every single player played their part. There is now a two week break before the next game. Squad: Michael Lawler, James Ashmore, Jamie Doyle, Paul Murphy, Dylan Costigan, Lee Doyle, Nathan Doyle, Paul Smurf Murphy, David Doyle, Stuart Kehoe, Paddy Murphy, Aidan Murphy, Roy Ajibade, Wayne Dooley, John Little, Keith Leigh.
