Divisive. Thats what the media wants you to be. Its never about people, its always about individual aspects such as white, black, Christian, Muslim, Democrat, Republican, gay, straight, etc... Remember women were very oppressed in this country and are currently in many countries around the world but the headline, Man murders woman doesnt cause the same outrage and attention. When we keep pining on the past, we obstruct progress. Sure there are racists, there are religious extremists, there are crooked politicians, there are acts by a vast minority that acts out because of differences, but on the same token there are still men who purposely hold women down whether its pay wage, misogyny, rape, or murder. How many murders are there a day? How many police injustices regardless of divisive issues? How many times does nobody bat an eye, pay attention, or share unless it has a divisive issue to it? I got friends. I dont have white friends, Hispanic friends, black friends, Christian friends, Jewish friends, Muslim friends, Hindu friends, women friends, male friends, gay friends, straight friends, democrat friends, republican friends. I got friends. I hope I can see the day when these divisive issues are looked upon like men vs. women....Maybe Im just naïve.
