Do Iowas modern farmers suffer from Stockholm Syndrome? Empathy, sympathy, even positive emotional feelings towards their captors, sometimes even to the point of identifying with them? Middle-aged, mostly men, never learned about soil ecology, always pressured to buy the newest and most expensive seeds, chemicals, equipment -- are these poor schmucks suffering from capture bonding? Farm Bureau is no friend to Iowa farmers, not even the those suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.
