Do U Fear God because of His Judgement or do you respect Him because you love Him? God Judged whole nations and some families in the bible and they did not repent or give their life to God. What is the Fear Of the Lord? The Hebrew definition means respect and reverence to the point you are in awe..It is viewed as a positive quality and not a negative one. God does not give us the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind 2 Timothy 1:7. Now if God wanted us to Fear Him as in scared then 2 Timothy is a lie. The Fear of The Lord is obtained through love and respect for God. Let me ask all of you this would you rather for your children to obey you out of love and devotion to you and toward you or out of pure fear of what you would do to them if you get angry? Which would you prefer? After you ask yourself that question then ask yourself this if your answer is you want them to fear you then do you really think they are going to share their heart with you? If the answer is no then tell me why do people think that is what God means and meant in His word? A good Father teaches His children to respect Him and not fear Him.. A good husband treats his wife in a way that she respects and can talk to him about anything even her faults and weakness. She can come to him and admit she is wrong and know that he will still love her.. But if she feels her husband is going to get angry and judge her strong in anger and not in love and leadership then he will never know the value of loving his wife and she will never know the value of true of love from her husband.. So It is with Christ and His bride the Church. When we do wrong toward God and we miss the mark we must repent out of love and devotion toward God not because we are so scared that he is a brutal dictator ready to beat us down and utterly destroy us. We cannot approach God with a spirit of fear as in scared. When you look at your child do you constantly see all his faults, failures, weaknesses and sin issues or do you see him or her through the eyes of love. Yes the Lord chastens those He loves but even in his chastisement it is done in love and not destruction.. Know the difference please and stop letting people instill a spirit of fear in you for that type of fear is of the devil and not the divine.. Repent because you love Him so much you do not want to hurt Him in anyway do not repent because you are scared because fear does not deliver you the blood and the love of God and for God does.. Fear or Reverence which one are you living in?
