Do cholesterol and saturated fat in the diet cause heart disease? - TopicsExpress

Do cholesterol and saturated fat in the diet cause heart disease? This is a very easy question to answer if one only looks at the history of rampant heart disease, which basically is a 20th century phenomenon. Prior to that time, heart attacks were rare when huge amounts of saturated fat and cholesterol-rich foods such as eggs were eaten. The amount of disinformation and misinformation that has been promulgated over the years in the health and nutrition field is staggering and appalling. The demonizing of eggs and the promotion of health-destroying man-made and man-altered foods such as margarine are two such pitiful examples. Large-scale consumption of refined vegetable oils and vegetable oil products, which began in earnest in the early 20th century and which coincided with the enormous rise in heart disease, is a huge health problem and a big factor in causing these unnecessary diseases.
